Questions

What does 8 mm mean?

Every pod has passed over an 8 mm sieve, so none are smaller than 8 mm across. Larger pods hold more seeds and aroma.

Why is it priced above supermarket cardamom?

Cardamom is priced by size. We buy only the bold grade from one district and test each lot, while low-price packs often mix small and split pods from several regions.

Is any colour added?

No. The green is natural. Pods are cleaned and graded, nothing is added.

How long will it keep?

Twelve months from packing in a closed jar kept cool and dry. The best-before date is on the jar.

What is the price of 1 kg elaichi?

Our largest jar is 500 g at ₹4,049, which works out to ₹8,098 per kg (₹810 per 100 g) for 8 mm Idukki pods. Smaller jars cost more per gram; the size table on this page shows every price.

How is green cardamom different from black cardamom?

Green cardamom (choti elaichi) is sweet and floral, for chai and desserts. Black cardamom (badi elaichi) is a larger, smoky pod from a different plant, used in dals and biryani.

How can I pay and what does shipping cost?

Pay online by UPI, card or netbanking through Razorpay and get 2% off (3% on orders of ₹799 or more), or choose Cash on Delivery at full price. Orders of ₹799 and over ship free across India; smaller orders pay a flat ₹90.
